Common Land and Roadside Verges It has been suggested that we should
tidy up and improve some of the grass and wooded areas in the village. Some of the areas that have been
discussed are as follows: ·
The roadside verge and ditch
adjacent to the School running between Troquain House and The White House. ·
The Common Land and ditch between
the road edge and the property boundaries opposite the School running between
The Lea and the pumping station adjacent to Acorns. ·
A small area around the
Horticultural Society seat situated on Pilcot Green North, near to the access
road to Pilcot Farm, thus making the seat more accessible and useable. The seat will also need cleaning and
treating with suitable oil or preservatives. It has been suggested that some of
this work could be undertaken by residents volunteering to join a work party
and working together for the good of the village. If you are interested in helping
to carry out any of this work, either individually or as part of a work party
please will you contact the Parish Clerk and let her know of your
availability, skills and equipment available.

Once the initial work has been
completed it will be necessary to regularly maintain the areas to ensure that
they do not deteriorate again. The alternative is for the Parish
Council to budget for and pay a contractor to carry out the work. .
This could, in future years, add an average of about £10 to the Parish
Precept part of your Council Tax for each dwelling in the village. Please let us know what you
think. We look forward to hearing from
you. |
